Contracts Manager (leading A1 main contractor)

Our client, a well‑established A1 main contractor with strong capabilities in both building and infrastructure works, is seeking a capable Contracts Manager to oversee the contractual and commercial aspects of a major LTA depot project valued at over S$300 million. This position plays a key role in ensuring effective cost management, contract compliance, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full range of contract administration and commercial management activities for the project.
  • Review, interpret, and advise on contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with project requirements and relevant regulations.
  • Oversee cost control, progress claims, variation orders, and subcontractor assessments.
  • Lead procurement activities, including tender preparation, evaluation, and subcontract negotiations.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks and propose appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Prepare and review contractual correspondences, claims, and extensions of time (EOT) submissions.
  • Work closely with project directors, managers, and quantity surveying teams to support financial reporting and commercial planning.
  • Ensure proper documentation and contract records are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support post-contract activities, including final account negotiations and close‑out.
Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in contract management or quantity surveying within building or civil/infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with large‑scale building or civil projects with contract values above S$300 million will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of contract conditions such as PSSCOC, procurement processes, and claims management.
  • Good communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead commercial functions for large and complex projects.
