Project Nature (T26): Provide administration and support for OA/AD servers, file servers, and video conferencing server infrastructure in both Windows and Linux servers within the Hong Kong Police Force.

Responsibilities

1. Support Windows domain with over 130 physical servers and over 250 virtual servers running on Microsoft Hyper‑V.
2. Oversee infrastructure design, product and solution evaluation and recommendation, as well as development of migration strategies and implementation procedures for OA and file server infrastructure, including necessary server hardware and/or software.
3. Provide technical support and guidance for the deployment of new office sites, ensuring seamless integration of OA and file server infrastructure and all required server appliances.
4. Monitor performance to reduce interruptions and server crashes.
5. Maintain system security for Windows servers by identifying and addressing faults and vulnerabilities, and coordinating internal and external security auditing.
6. Review error logs from OA/AD servers and file servers to identify root causes and implement stable, reliable solutions.
7. Provide technical support and maintenance for storage, encryption, and data governance platforms for thousands of end users.
8. Manage video conferencing server migration, ensuring a seamless, secure, and efficient transition.
9. Respond to help desk requests and provide 7×24 technical support.

Qualifications & Requirements

10 years of post‑qualification experience, with at least 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role and comparable capacity.

• Strong experience in implementation and support of Windows server infrastructure, both physical and virtual.
• In‑depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), including AD restructuring and object migration.
• Strong knowledge of Group Policy and Microsoft Hyper‑V infrastructure.
• DNS server management including DNS zone migration, design, and configuration.
• DHCP server management and IP address management.
• Experience with large‑scale deployment, support and migration on Windows domain.
• Experience in storage, encryption, and data governance platforms.
• Knowledge and experience with VBScript, PowerShell, Batch script and Shell script.
• Experience in video conferencing server migration, including from Windows Server to Linux‑based Server.
• Security vetting is required.

Technical Skills

• At least 7 years' experience in Microsoft Active Directory Administration (ADA).
• At least 7 years' experience in Office Automation (OAN).
• At least 7 years' experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 (W12).
• At least 7 years' experience in Windows NT Server Administration & Network Support (WNT).
• At least 1 year experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS).
• 5 years' experience in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager Admin (OMA) is an advantage.
• 5 years' experience in Data Encryption Technology (DET) is an advantage.
• 5 years' experience in Data/File Backup Technology (DFT) is an advantage.
• 6 months' experience in Huawei VRP & Huawei Products (HAU) is an advantage.

Non-Technical Skills

• At least 7 years' experience working with the Government (GOV).
• At least 7 years' experience in helpdesk call handling (HDT).
