Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a qualified candidate in Singapore for a role focused on planning and executing laboratory experiments. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and have significant experience in scale-down implementations and small-scale lab processes. They will be responsible for leading studies, aligning project requirements, and ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines, as well as troubleshooting laboratory equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience for Bachelor’s degree or 4 years for Master’s degree.
• Hands-on experience with cell culture/upstream and/or downstream purification processes.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute laboratory experiments, use tests or small-scale investigations.
• Lead small-scale studies and data gathering for manufacturing operations (process investigations, improvement projects).
• Lead the evaluation of process improvements and design of small-scale experiments to implement process improvements.
• Act as technical subject matter expert (SME) in small scale experiment troubleshooting.
• Define and align the requirements for complex laboratory experiments according to internal and external guidelines for small scale process development and validation, process investigations and improvements, qualified scale down models and material use tests.
• Design, plan and execute small scale experiments according to project timelines. Lead discussions to align experimental requirements and plan with relevant stakeholders.
• Perform laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration as per laboratory procedures. Troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Hands on experience in scale down implementation, experiment DOE and lab scale process troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, biochemical engineering with minimum 6 years of relevant experience OR master’s degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Hands‑on experience with cell culture/upstream processes and/or downstream purification processes in a small scale lab environment.
