What Manufacturing Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
Job Summary

Contract Manufacturing Engineering Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership of the Contract Manufacturing Engineering function. The Contract Manufacturing function ensures that external manufacturers deliver a quality product at the right cost and at the right quantity, location and time. The manager will meet these requirements by having alignment with COU and other business partners.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that CMEs are trained on CM playbook and can perform required actions
  • Frequent travel visiting critical CMs with the CME to ensure smooth operational oversight and review of inflight projects. requires approx. 35% travel
  • Uses CM metrics to address issues and look for any predictive trends.
  • Mentor CMEs on facilitation of projects, root cause analysis, CMPs, CI events and issue resolution.
  • Support preparation of periodic business and operations review meetings
  • Escalate risks and tactical operational issues with CMs and CAH as needed
  • Manage savings pipeline and prioritization for assigned CMs
  • Manage capital and expense budget for assigned CMs
  • Manage high level projects as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred
  • 8+ years related work experience required in regulated industries, preference for medical devices
  • Ability to lead x-functional team toward operational objectives
  • Aptitude to contribute to strategic goal-setting for department/business unit
  • Ability to travel approximately 35% of the time
  • Preferred certifications: LSS Black Belt, PMP, etc.
