Job summary

A reputable General Builder in Singapore is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to strengthen their project and commercial management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with obligations, and managing risks to safeguard project profitability. Candidates should have a Diploma or Degree in a related field and possess a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in contract management within the construction industry. This role also demands strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

About the Company

Our client is a reputable General Builder with a strong history of delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and public-sector construction works. As part of their growth plan, they are seeking an experienced and proactive Contract Manager to strengthen their project and commercial management team.

Key Responsibilities
Contract & Commercial Management
  • Draft, review, interpret, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are clearly defined, tracked, and fulfilled throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, cost control, and commercial risks to safeguard project profitability.
  • Lead negotiations for variations, extensions of time (EOT), and dispute resolution matters.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure contract terms are implemented correctly.
  • Provide advice on contractual and commercial issues, including compliance with regulatory and project requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide commercial insights to support decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, claims, and approvals.
  • Prepare commercial reports, cost summaries, and documentation required for audits or client submission.
Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law , or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in contract management within the construction industry .
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., PSSCOC, SIA), procurement processes, and legal frameworks will be advantageous.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational abilities and the capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proactive, solution-driven, and able to work closely with cross-functional teams.
