Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to oversee contract management and negotiations. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in contracts administration, with at least 5 years in a main contractor role. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts, managing disputes, and assisting in the tendering process. Strong negotiation and leadership skills are essential for this position.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in QS/Contracts administration within the construction industry.
  • 5+ years with a Main-Contractor preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and amendments.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors to achieve favorable terms.
  • Handle contractual and commercial disputes related to projects.
  • Administer VO/ Addition/ Omission/ Back-charges & Collection.
  • Manage a team of QS on producing project claims, indemnity warranty, other contractual budget accounting, tracking and management reporting.
  • Assist in the tendering process to ensure costing are accurately included.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with contracts.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Building Construction / Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience as QS/Contracts administration in similar capacity within the construction industry. Out of which, minimum 5 years with the Main-Contractor would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and have good knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD is an added advantage.
  • Meticulous and analytical and possess excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
