Job summary

Hitachi Rail Singapore seeks a seasoned Contract Manager to drive tendering and post-contract work across rail signalling and safety projects. You will advise stakeholders, manage claims and variations, and align agreements with corporate policies.

You will collaborate with Project and Bid Managers across SEA, ensuring milestones, risk controls, and governance are maintained. Strong English and MS Office skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related field.
  • 5–10 years in Rail Signaling/Communications/Security/Building/Civil projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in contract, claims, and EOT management.
  • Experience with project commercials is a plus.
  • Familiarity with LTA/PSSCOC/FIDIC contracts.
  • Experience with Singapore projects.
  • Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in tender to post contract stage with contractual review and advice to stakeholders.
  • Work in multiple projects and bids.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Bid Managers for assigned projects and bids.
  • Manage claims, EOT, variations and prepare monthly progress reports.
  • Prepare MOUs, NDAs, and team agreements aligning with policies.
  • Continuously monitor contract deliverables and milestones to avoid delays and risks.
  • Assist Head of Contracts in managing projects, bids and procurement.
  • Attend bids and project meetings.

Contract Manager (Ref.No. R0142485)
at our location in Singapore
You will enjoy having these responsibilities:
  • Will be involved in the entire project cycle, from tender to post contract stage that is focused mainly in providing contractual review and advises to the different stakeholders which may arise over the project duration.
  • Work in multiple projects and bids.
  • Work closely with the Project Managers, and Bid Managers for the assigned projects and bids.
  • Work closely with the project team in the end-to-end management of Claims (including logs, gaps identification, etc.), EOT, Variations as well as the preparation of monthly progress report.
  • Work closely with HOC and SEA Head in preperation/managing matters relating to Contract Agreements, MOUs, NDAs, and different team agreements aligning with HRS’ policies and procedures.
  • Responsible in enlightening the bid/project teams in whatever ambiguity they may have related to bid, project and business agreements.
  • Responsible for continuously monitoring of contract deliverables and project milestones to avoid any delay and project risks.
  • Assist the Head of Contracts in managing all the projects, bids and procurement activities.
  • Attend to bids and project meetings
You have:
  • Degree or Diploma in Communication/Electronics/Civil/Mechanical Engineering and other similar discipline
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Rail Signaling/Communications/Security System/Building/Civil projects or a similar is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract, claims, and EOT management is important.
  • Background in handling project commercials is a plus
  • Good to have an understanding and experience in working with LTA/PSSCOC/FIDIC form of contracts
  • Familiarity and handling projects (and its T&Cs) in Singapore
  • Good communication skill in English language

Ability to work with team members in Singapore and across SEA the region

Strong MS Office skills, for example, the proficient knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, will be necessary throughout this role

  • The ability to collate information and produce comprehensive reports.
