The Job
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer’s primary responsibility is leading lean initiatives, designing and facilitating lean training and leading other CI activities of the division. The position holder shall devise efficient systems that integrate employee, machines, IT, materials, information and energy to make a product or to provide a service. This role is expected to use Lean Sigma tools and methodologies in order to reduce variability, waste and cost of poor quality, resulting in improved customer satisfaction, business growth and company profitability.
What You Can Expect of the Job
You’ll review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows and other information to understand methods that are applied and activities that take place in maintenance functions and services.
You’ll develop proposals for restructuring and modernization of the system and implement them after approval.
You’ll develop/refine control systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient.
You’ll plan and lead the CI activities such as 5S, Kaizen, Lean, PDCA, QRQC methods, etc., including carrying out of audits and fact finding (of processes and operations).
You’ll schedule, plan and execute relevant training sessions for company employees (e.g. on various CI tools applicable to the company’s operations) and follow through on all necessary logistics.
You’ll monitor CI projects assigned to various departments and follow-up on their status (e.g. via regular meetings).
You’ll work closely with all departments to perform root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions for process related concerns and customer complaints.
You’ll support root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement within the maintenance processes.
You’ll provide monthly updates on CI activities status to the Management.
Any other task as assigned by the Quality Manager or General Manager.
What We Expect of You
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in Continual Improvement activities, preferably in a related aerospace/aviation industry.
Proficiency in relevant IT applications, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI, MS Dynamics and ERP applications.
Professional experience with Quality Management System, Lean six sigma tools and methodologies.
Experience in conducting training in Lean six sigma manufacturing/operation principles and Kaizen facilitation.
Good comprehension and analytical skills to provide solutions and insights to various stakeholder’s strategic decisions
A good communicator and team player with pleasant and energetic personality, effective verbal and written communication skills, and able to interact at all levels.
Able to handle international & local audits.
Good knowledge of a Part-145 working environment will be an added advantage.
Participation in any quality standard certification.
