Job description

KPMG Singapore seeks actuarial professionals to deliver consultancy services in insurance, focusing on IFRS 17, audits, and financial modelling.

Your role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Participate in actuarial audits and advisory work for life insurance clients including direct insurers and reinsurers
  • Engage in IFRS 17 related projects such as gap assessment, financial impact assessment, end-to-end testing, modelling enhancement, and review of parallel run/comparative results
  • Conduct participating fund reviews, actuarial internal audits, peer reviews, and expense studies
  • Support Merger & Acquisitions (M&A), due diligence, business planning, projection, and strategy projects
  • Build actuarial models using Prophet and Excel to aid decision making and analysis
  • Advise clients on insurance topics including accounting and regulatory changes, claims, pricing, reserving process optimisation, and market studies
  • Assist in business development by preparing proposals and presentations
  • Collaborate with KPMG offices globally
About you

The company is looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly
  • Strong time management skills with ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Knowledge of Excel/VBA, SAS, SQL, and R is advantageous
  • Desire to pursue actuarial examinations with internationally recognised bodies such as SOA, IFOA, or Actuaries Institute of Australia
