Location: Singapore (projects across the island)
Employment Type: Full-time / Contract (flexible, depending on fit)
About Meka Innovation (mēkā)
Meka Innovation is a multidisciplinary design and engineering studio that turns ideas into real‑world products and spaces. We work across design, fabrication, construction, and installation—often delivering bespoke, non‑standard solutions that require hands‑on coordination and problem‑solving on site.
We are looking for a Construction Supervisor to manage small to mid‑scale construction and installation projects, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard (especially where design intent matters).
Supervise day‑to‑day site activities for multiple small to mid‑scale projects (retail fit‑outs, installations, custom builds, prototyping‑related works).
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, installers, and vendors (ensuring scope, timeline, and quality are met).
Ensure works are carried out according to drawings, specifications, and approved methods (while flagging constructibility issues early).
Monitor site progress, manpower, and materials to keep projects on schedule.
Enforce workplace safety and compliance with Singapore regulations (WSH, permits, site housekeeping).
Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and punch‑list close‑outs.
Liaise closely with designers, engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth execution.
Prepare basic site reports, progress updates, and documentation (photos, checklists, issue logs).
Assist with on‑site problem‑solving (adapting when conditions differ from drawings, which happens often in bespoke work).
Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Construction Supervisor or similar role (small to mid‑scale projects preferred).
Good understanding of construction methods, installations, and sequencing.
Experience working with multiple trades (carpentry, metal works, electrical, basic M&E coordination).
Familiar with Singapore site regulations and safety requirements.
Able to read and interpret basic construction drawings.
Hands‑on, practical mindset (comfortable being on‑site, not just managing from a desk).
Strong communication skills (clear with subcontractors, calm with clients).
Self‑driven and organised (able to juggle multiple projects at once).
Experience with custom fabrication, exhibition builds, or design‑led projects.
Exposure to prototyping or non‑standard construction.
Basic knowledge of materials, finishes, and detailing.
Ability to suggest build improvements or cost/time optimisations.
Work on interesting, non-cookie‑cutter projects (not repetitive high‑rise construction).
Close collaboration with designers and engineers (your input matters).
Opportunity to grow into a Senior Supervisor or Project Manager role.
Fast‑moving environment with room to learn and take ownership.
