Job description

- Monday to Saturday - 5.5 days

- Working hours: 0830-1830 (Mon-Fri), 0830-1230 (Sat)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage all construction activities, ensuring performance excellence, adherence to procedures, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for construction performance, procedures, and compliance; provide recommendations to Project Managers for improvements and corrective actions.
  • Manage contractors to ensure quality workmanship, compliance with engineering drawings, applicable codes, and standards, as well as adherence to construction schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate and interface with engineering teams to support construction activities.
  • Assist in formulating and implementing corporate construction policies that align with project goals.
  • Oversee effective project execution to ensure timely delivery, minimal wastage, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and site personnel.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues impacting project progress.
  • Liaise with government or statutory authorities, consultants, clients, and suppliers as required.
  • Provide regular project progress updates and participate in project execution and management meetings.
  • Select, mentor, and develop a multicultural workforce and management team to achieve business objectives in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure quality assurance and ISO standards are met for all construction-related activities and maintain customer quality specifications.
  • Allocate manpower and capital resources efficiently to maximize productivity.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, or beyond expectations.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent from a university recognized by BCA (preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the construction industry, with hands‑on experience in demolition, civil, mechanical and electrical construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera, and AutoCAD.
  • Able to start work immediately or within short notice.
