Design & Engineering Oversight
- Lead the design and engineering of mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, chilled water, process piping, underground services, and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with semiconductor facility requirements.
- Review and approve technical specifications, equipment selection, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, structural, process) to ensure the integration of mechanical systems.
- Evaluate innovative technologies to enhance system efficiency, performance, and sustainability.
Construction & Installation Management
- Oversee the installation and construction of mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
- Manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring proper execution of work and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and resolve any challenges.
- Ensure proper testing, balancing, and commissioning of mechanical systems to meet operational requirements.
System Performance & Optimization
- Establish performance benchmarks for mechanical systems and monitor their efficiency and functionality during and after commissioning.
- Identify potential inefficiencies and implement optimization strategies to improve system performance.
- Address operational challenges, conducting root cause analysis for any mechanical system failures.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives by integrating sustainable and energy-saving solutions.
Safety & Compliance Management
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with applicable local, and international codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA).
- Develop and enforce safety protocols related to high-risk activities such as high-pressure piping and HVAC system installations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with environmental teams to manage emissions, noise levels, and other potential impacts of mechanical systems.
Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting
- Act as the primary point of contact for mechanical systems, engaging with clients, consultants, and project teams to address concerns and provide updates.
- Prepare and present progress reports, system performance data, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Facilitate coordination with other project disciplines to ensure seamless integration and avoid conflicts during construction.
- Address feedback and implement solutions to meet client expectations and project goals.
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and contractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team expertise in mechanical system design and construction.
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 8+ years of experience in mechanical construction or program/project management with at least 5 years of experience in semiconductor industry.
