Job Purpose:
The Construction Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) construction projects within an EPC/EPCM environment. The role ensures that all site activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, statutory requirements, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Lead the construction phase of EPC/EPCM M&E projects, ensuring alignment with the project execution plan.
- Develop detailed construction schedules, manpower plans, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
2. Site Management
- Direct, manage, and supervise site activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Monitor site progress and proactively identify and mitigate risks or delays.
- Ensure proper site documentation, daily reports, and progress tracking.
3. Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve site issues.
- Attend project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure timely delivery of work scopes.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure all permits-to-work and statutory approvals are obtained before commencement of activities.
5. Quality Assurance
- Oversee inspection and testing activities to ensure installation meets design specifications and project requirements.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures in line with company QA/QC procedures.
Key Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in M&E construction, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record in EPC or EPCM projects in the construction industry, preferably in cleanroom, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or industrial facilities.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of construction sequencing, methods, and safety practices.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders at all levels.
- We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
