OVERVIEW

Construction Manager (Architectural & Façade Works) is responsible for leading the on-site execution, coordination, and delivery of architectural and façade projects, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

This role requires a technically competent leader who can manage site operations, supervise contractors and workers, coordinate with project managers and engineers, and ensure compliance with all relevant codes, safety regulations, and client specifications. The Construction Manager plays a key role in translating design intent into successful project execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Site Management & Execution
    • Plan, organize, and supervise daily site operations for architectural and façade works.
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure work sequences and activities are efficiently executed.
    • Oversee installation of façade, cladding, glazing, and architectural finishes to meet design intent and quality standards.
    • Ensure timely availability of manpower, materials, and equipment to prevent delays.
    • Monitor site progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule compliance.
  • Quality Assurance & Technical Control
    • Enforce quality standards and workmanship requirements across all site activities.
    • Review shop drawings, technical submissions, and installation methods before work commencement.
    • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure materials and installations meet project and regulatory standards.
    • Coordinate mock-up reviews, sample approvals, and testing procedures with consultants and clients.
    • Maintain accurate site documentation, including inspection reports, NCRs, and QA/QC checklists.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure full compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
    • Conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and inspections to promote a safe working environment.
    • Investigate and report safety incidents, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
    • Enforce safe work practices among subcontractors and workers, ensuring adherence to method statements and risk assessments.
  • Resource & Subcontractor Management
    • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project timelines, quality expectations, and cost objectives.
    • Evaluate subcontractor performance, progress claims, and variation works.
    • Liaise with procurement teams for timely delivery of materials and equipment.
    • Optimize use of site resources to minimize wastage and enhance productivity.
  • Coordination & Communication
    • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, design team, and consultants to resolve technical or site-related issues.
    • Lead site coordination meetings and provide progress updates to management and stakeholders.
    • Facilitate clear communication between site teams, drafters, and fabrication workshops to ensure buildability and design alignment.
    • Support testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Leadership & Continuous Improvement
    • Supervise and mentor site supervisors, foremen, and workers, ensuring competence and motivation within the team.
    • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and accountability at all levels of site operations.
    • Identify opportunities for construction innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary site teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of façade systems, architectural finishes, and installation methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, sequencing, and resource allocation.
  • Proven track record in delivering projects safely, on time, and with high-quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with local codes, safety regulations, and authority requirements.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building & Construction, or a related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The standard working week is five and a half (5.5) days; however, you may be required to work on Saturdays and Sundays depending on project requirements.
  • Regular site presence is required to oversee installation and coordinate works.
