Job summary

A leading Singaporean orchestra is seeking a full-time Concert Production Technician to assist in technical setups for performances. The ideal candidate will be experienced in audio, video, and lighting systems, possess strong teamwork skills, and be passionate about live entertainment. Qualifications

FULL-TIME CONCERT PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN (STAGING/SOUND/LIGHTING/VISUAL & MEDIA)
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the setup and strike of audio, video, lighting, stage equipment, and musical instruments according to production requirements.
  • Assist with loading, un-loading of stage logistics, props, scenery, instruments, and technical equipment.
  • Provide standby support during rehearsals, sound checks, and live performances, including cue execution and stage movements.
  • Provide logistical and backstage support for rehearsals, concerts, performances, and hirer events.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and staging issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  • Operate equipment (only trained or experienced) and perform rigging tasks in compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Conduct routine servicing and minor repairs of technical and instrument equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in production planning, including work scheduling, equipment servicing, maintenance coordination, and resource deployment.
  • Collaborate with stage managers, performers, and the production crew members to ensure smooth show execution.
  • Work closely with the Head of Concert Production to support and achieve production objectives.
Job Requirements
  • Higher Nitec or Diploma in Engineering, Live Sound Production, Theatre, Audio/Visual/Sound Engineering, or related fields. Candidates with N’ or O’ Levels and at least 2 years of relevant experience are welcome.
  • Proficient in setup, strike, and operation of:
    • Audio systems (e.g., consoles, speakers, microphones)
    • Video systems (e.g., consoles, projectors)
    • Lighting systems (e.g., consoles, fixtures)
    • Stage equipment (e.g., risers, rigging, trusses)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills; able to collaborate across departments.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficient in English, with basic understanding of Chinese to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with live production systems, technical equipment, and theatrical terminology is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and layout diagrams (e.g., Vectorworks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
  • Possession of Work-at-Height, Manlift, or MEWP licenses is advantageous but not required.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Able to work in the evenings, on weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Able to lift heavy equipment and remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Passionate about live entertainment, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
