Job description

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Programming: Translating technical blueprints, CAD/CAM models, and engineering drawings into CNC machine instructions (G-code) to define tool paths and sequences.
• Setup & Operation: Preparing machines by installing tools, loading materials, and setting up workpieces.
• Monitoring: Supervising the automated cutting, welding, milling, and grinding process to ensure accuracy.
• Quality Control: Measuring finished parts using precision tools (micrometers, calipers) to ensure they meet, or exceed, specification tolerances.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Performing routine, daily maintenance on machines, identifying malfunctions, and troubleshooting production issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, G-code, and CAD/CAM software.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and schematics.
• Mathematical Skills: Solid understanding of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry for calculations regarding tolerances and measurements.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods.
• Operator: Focuses on running machines, loading parts, and checking quality, often using programs created by others.
• Programmer: Focuses on writing the code, simulating tool paths, and optimizing the manufacturing process.
