Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily compliance operations including verification of CDD/ECDD/KYC documentation and customer profiling for both in-store and online transactions.
- Oversee outlet compliance during operational hours, ensuring staff follow proper KYC, AML and CFT procedures at point of transaction.
- Conduct internal audits and spot checks at retail outlets, including during weekends and public holidays, to ensure compliance with MAS and internal policies.
- Prepare and assist in the submission of statutory compliance reports (e.g., AML/CFT returns, regulatory filings, and periodic declarations) accurately and within deadlines.
- Review and monitor transaction alerts or exceptions from outlets, escalating potential AML/CFT issues.
- Support the development, implementation and review of compliance policies, SOPs, and audit checklists for outlet operations.
- Maintain compliance logs, audit findings, remediation actions, and ensure proper recordkeeping of customer files and reports.
- Coordinate with Operations, HR and IT to ensure compliance measures are embedded in daily workflows.
- Provide training and refresher briefings to retail staff on compliance requirements, reporting obligations, and red flag awareness.
- Participate in investigations and follow up on compliance breaches or operational lapses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in compliance, internal audit, or regulatory operations (preferably in pawnbroking, money‑changing, or financial services or related industry).
- Good understanding of MAS regulatory requirements including AML/CFT, KYC, PSPM, CDD/ECDD processes.
- Willingness to work according to retail outlet operating hours, including weekends and public holidays for compliance checks or audits.
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to prepare compliance dashboards, reports and audit summaries.
- Integrity, confidentiality, and accountability in handling sensitive information.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
