Job description

Compliance Officer - Financial & Data Integrity Programs

This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

Compliance Officer - Financial & Data Integrity Programs

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, analytically minded, and commercially aware individual to join our Scheme Compliance team as a Compliance Officer for our Financial & Data Integrity pillar. This role is responsible for supporting the governance, oversight, and continuous improvement of card-network programs relating to transaction-data integrity, cardholder-data security, fraud, disputes, chargebacks, and merchant financial integrity.

You will work across Scheme Compliance, Risk, Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Commercial, and regional stakeholders to help ensure card-network requirements are understood, consistently implemented, and well governed across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured program environments, can coordinate technical and operational workstreams, and enjoys translating complex network obligations into scalable, defensible compliance processes.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and coordinate program-management activities across the Financial & Data Integrity remit, including remediation tracking, program documentation, stakeholder coordination, and continuous-improvement initiatives for card-network monitoring and data-security programs.
  • Support the governance and execution of relevant card-network programs, including fraud, dispute, chargeback, transaction-data, data-security, breach, and financial-recovery requirements. This may include programs such as ECP, ECM, VAMP, PCI, VEP, C-VEP, DIMP, GCAR, VARS, DISC, and related network obligations.
  • Maintain program plans, trackers, milestones, action logs, issue registers, and evidence repositories for ongoing initiatives, escalations, monitoring programs, and remediation workstreams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional follow-up on transaction-data quality issues, inaccurate or incomplete data fields, formatting or processing errors, threshold breaches, open findings, remediation plans, and other network compliance obligations.
  • Support oversight of fraud, dispute, and chargeback-related compliance obligations, including monitoring-program governance, reporting, escalation handling, merchant or portfolio remediation, and documentation.
  • Support cardholder-data security and breach-related compliance activities, including requirements tracking, validation support, issue management, financial assessments or recoveries, remediation coordination, and follow-up actions.
  • Translate card-network requirements into clear internal policies, procedures, operating playbooks, control artifacts, and stakeholder actions that can be implemented consistently across regions and teams.
  • Prepare concise updates and materials for leadership reviews, internal governance forums, audits, regulatory or network discussions, and other senior stakeholder engagements as needed.
  • Build and maintain documentation, playbooks, operating procedures, and control evidence that improve consistency, transparency, accountability, and audit readiness across the Scheme Compliance organization.
  • Identify recurring issues, control gaps, process inefficiencies, or inconsistent practices; propose and help deliver scalable improvements in partnership with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Operations.
  • Help standardize how Adyen manages scheme-integrity obligations globally, improving visibility, ownership, timely execution, and defensibility across fraud, dispute, data-integrity, data-security, and financial-integrity programs.
Who you are
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, dependencies, and senior stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience working in payments, fintech, financial services, or another regulated environment is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with card-network compliance, monitoring programs, fraud, disputes, chargebacks, transaction processing, payment data, PCI-related requirements, merchant-risk governance, or information-security programs is a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable working across both technical and non-technical teams, including Product, Engineering, Risk, Legal, Commercial, Operations, and regional business stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex external requirements into clear actions, policies, documentation, decisions, and executive updates.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage structured programs with many dependencies, drive remediation to completion, and influence progress without direct authority.
  • Experience with program governance, remediation tracking, control documentation, evidence management, audit readiness, or internal-control frameworks is strongly preferred.
  • A practical, process-oriented mindset with strong follow-through and a bias toward scalable, well-controlled solutions.
  • Ability to think both strategically and operationally, balancing technical realities, operational capacity, commercial needs, and card-network compliance expectations.
