Overview
The Company President provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the Singapore entity. This role oversees business development, governance, risk management, and cross-border coordination with China headquarters. The President works closely with the senior management team to drive sustainable growth, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within the banking and finance sector.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement strategic priorities in alignment with China headquarters and regulatory expectations.
- Oversee major business initiatives, product expansion, and investment opportunities.
- Monitor financial performance, market trends, and competitive landscape.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure strong internal controls, enterprise risk management, and full compliance with MAS regulations.
- Oversee policy frameworks, operational standards, and compliance reporting.
- Promote a culture of integrity, prudence, and regulatory discipline.
Senior Management Oversight
- Provide direction and guidance to the senior management team on strategic and operational matters.
- Lead performance evaluation, leadership development, and succession planning for key roles.
- Build a cohesive, high-performing leadership team.
Cross-Border Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison with China headquarters, state-owned shareholders, and affiliated institutions.
- Represent the company in engagements with regulators, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
- Strengthen cross-border communication and ensure alignment of business objectives.
Business & Relationship Development
- Support key client relationships, institutional partnerships, and strategic collaborations.
- Promote the company’s reputation, brand, and long-term positioning in Singapore and the region.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 20 years of experience in banking, financial services, or asset management.
- Background with China state-owned enterprises or China-affiliated financial institutions preferred.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations, governance standards, and international financial markets.
- Proven leadership experience managing senior teams and cross-border stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate qualifications preferred.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese to liaise with China counterparts.
