Kepler Search is seeking a Commodities Trade Finance/ Treasury Manager based in Singapore. The role focuses on ownership of deal-by-deal financing, bank line management, and end-to-end treasury operations within a physical commodity trading context.

You will lead a small treasury team, drive cash forecasting, and maintain robust bank relationships across markets while ensuring compliance with UCP and ISBP. Singapore-based role with regional exposure and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• At least six years in trade finance within physical commodity trading in Asia.
• Deep familiarity with LCs, collections, guarantees and bonds; UCP/ISBP knowledge.
• Strong Excel skills and cash forecasting ability.

Commodities Trade Finance/ Treasury Manager

A leading physical commodity trading house is hiring a Treasury & Trade Finance Manager based in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Own transaction financing on a deal-by-deal basis, allocating cargoes to the appropriate bank lines and managing facility utilisation, and administer the full suite of trade finance instruments (LCs, collections, guarantees and bonds) against contracts and shipping documents under standard UCP and ISBP practice.
• Engage banks on financing needs that fall outside existing facilities, and anticipate and resolve issues on transactions, escalating to management in good time.
• Oversee the payments cycle with operations, approving and validating payments against supporting documentation and resolving outstanding items with counterparties.
• Maintain cash flow planning and forecasting across spot and term deals, report on a regular cycle, monitor financing and counterparty risk, and support reconciliation of payables and receivables.
• Own and grow the firm's banking relationships across multiple markets, negotiating terms, managing account opening, and developing new lines and funding sources as the business expands.
• Arrange the relevant insurance cover to mitigate risk across the trading book.
• Lead a small treasury and trade finance team across several locations, providing direction and technical guidance, managing stakeholder and reporting requirements, and partnering closely with the trading desks.

Requirements:

• At least six years in trade finance within physical commodity trading in Asia. Deeply familiar with LCs, collections, guarantees and bonds, document and contract checking, payment execution under UCP and ISBP, at a level to check and correct the team's work.
• A track record of managing and growing bank relationships and funding lines, including term sheet negotiation and onboarding new banks, plus practical cash forecasting and strong Excel.
• Owns bank relationships and commands respect, while remaining hands-on and willing to work transaction by transaction.
• A strong, self-motivated communicator, comfortable with messy, non-standard trades and less sophisticated counterparties, and willing to travel across the bank and supply markets a few times a year.
