Job summary

A marine engineering company located in Singapore is seeking a professional to perform commercial duties for maintenance works. The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, with a preference for candidates possessing experience in cost estimation and working in the marine industry. Candidates must have strong negotiation skills and the ability to multitask under pressure. Competitive salary and company transport provided.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • To perform commercial duties (costing and sales) for maintenance works involving clients’ vessels and assets
  • Prepare accurate, realistic and timely quotations & costing for enquires/jobs requests from clients
  • Prepare accurate, complete and detailed invoicing
  • Initiate sales transfer to main yards upon receipt of payment notification from customers
  • To match ES PO with ERS invoice number against IDOC for sales collection under Clients’ projects.
  • To source and negotiate competitive quotation for specialist jobs and complex works.
  • To liaise job quotation between owner’s rep and yard personnel
  • Prepare monthly contract-out jobs status on maintenance order
  • To register new subcontractor into the system and update the status when necessary.
  • To generate subcontractor’s work order upon PO confirmation from customer
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferably 1 years working experience in marine related industry
  • Experience in cost estimation and analysis for new ship repair projects will be advantageous
  • Experience in subcontracting is advantageous
  • Familiar in negotiation with subcons and vendors for specialized and complex repairs works
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Meticulous and comfortable with large amount of admin work
