Job description

This role involves managing collection strategies, leading teams, monitoring portfolio performance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve recovery rates and customer outcomes.

Collections Strategy & Operations
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine collections strategies across early, mid, and late-stage delinquency buckets.
  • Monitor portfolio performance metrics such as delinquency rates, recovery rates, and write-offs.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer experience.
Team Management & Leadership
  • Lead and coach team members to achieve performance targets.
  • Set clear KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews, training, and skill development programs.
  • Foster a performance-driven, ethical, and customer-centric culture within the collections function.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with Credit Risk, Customer Service, Finance, and Sales teams to align on risk appetite and recovery goals.
  • Manage relationships with external collection agencies, repossession agents and legal partners.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management on portfolio health and collection effectiveness.
Data & Reporting
  • Analyze collection data to identify trends, root causes of delinquency, and countermeasures.
  • Prepare dashboards, MIS reports, and management presentations on collections performance.
  • Leverage analytics, automation, and digital tools to improve recovery outcomes.
  • Any other adhoc tasks assigned by Head of Finance and Accounting.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10+ years of experience in collections within a financial institution or banking environment, preferably in lending.
  • Proven experience managing collections teams and/or third-party agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and improve operational performance.
  • Proactive,hands-onand capable of working independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
  • Basicproficiencyin Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
