Job Summary

We are seeking a COBOL Developer to join the Cash Management & Corporate Banking Services department, responsible for the International Core Banking System . The role involves developing, enhancing, and supporting core banking applications using COBOL, Pro*C, SQL, and related technologies. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Mandatory Skill-set
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field;
  • Must have 6 years of hands on experience with COBOL (Micro Focus COBOL);
  • Must have experience with Pro*C and C programming;
  • Must have solid command of Oracle database environments such as SQL / PL-SQL;
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux Shell Scripting & Oracle RDBMS;
  • Experience with source control and collaboration tools.
Desired Skill-set
  • Strong domain knowledge in Banking and Finance, with experience in core banking systems being an advantage;
  • Exposure to containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes;
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Maven;
  • Experience with messaging and file transfer tools including MQ and CFT;
  • Comfortable working in iterative development environments, following LEAN or Agile methodologies;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for effective documentation and reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze functional specifications and create detailed technical specifications;
  • Design, develop, implement, and test software components using COBOL, Pro*C, and SQL;
  • Maintain and enhance legacy banking applications and support modernization efforts;
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including unit tests, peer reviews, and system integration documents;
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and QA teams to ensure solutions align with business requirements;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production systems (Level 3 support);
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution architecture;
  • Ensure high quality and timely delivery of assigned tasks and projects;
  • Engage in continuous learning and development of new technical skills and industry trends;
  • Support CI/CD implementation and assist in system automation and DevOps practices.
