Job summary

NCS Group is seeking a Cloud Database Associate/Engineer to develop and manage cloud infrastructure databases (PaaS) and ensure high availability. You will work in a DevSecOps-driven team supporting multi-cloud deployments with AWS/Azure, maintaining hundreds of databases and services across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS layers.

The role focuses on database design and tuning, deployment support, patching, and migrations, with an emphasis on reliability and scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering or Information Technology or related disciplines.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant IT experience.
• Familiar with SQL script language.
• Strong critical thinking, good problem solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts, services, technologies and architecting.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Able to communicate (written and spoken) with clarity and effectively to customer and be able to position to stakeholders as a trusted team member.
• Adaptable towards changes and able to work in cross-functional settings.

• Setup, testing, implementation and maintenance of technologies on cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Setup, managing & maintaining databases for client IT Cloud infrastructure.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle & MySQL related issues.
• Provide solution related to database designs.
• Implement change requests related to development in databases.
• Support application deployment activities.
• Implement data patch SQL scripts.
• Provide solution for SQL query tuning.
• Perform installation, upgrade and migration of databases.
• Perform database patching and hardening.
• Working in an agile, cross-functional team, actively engaging to support the success of the team.
• Documentation of new processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.
• Provide AWS maintenance support for production system.

Job Description

As a Cloud Database Associate/Engineer, your responsibilities will lie within the development and management of key components of the cloud infrastructure mainly focusing on PaaS Database supporting our services, ensuring and improving availability and reliability of the infrastructure. You will be working within a DevSecOps driven team, which manages the customer cloud environment encompassing hundreds of databases and servers and multiple implementations of cloud services in the form of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS, by supporting the team and infrastructure with strong up-to-date technical and hands‑on knowledge of cloud technologies and configuration of the cloud environment. You will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.

Good To Have

• Experience in building cloud native applications eg. using Python, Node.js
• In-depth knowledge of networking on the cloud
• Technical qualifications related to Cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Demonstrate hands‑on knowledge of DevSecOps to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development and deployment in project deliveries
