Job summary

Thales in Singapore seeks a senior data and cloud platform engineer to design and operate the data platform and infrastructure as code. You will build the cloud foundation with Terraform, manage a Kubernetes-based data lakehouse, and enforce governance and reliability across multi-tenant environments.

You will collaborate with developers to enable self-service provisioning of topics, catalogs, containers, and workflows, while defining SLOs, runbooks, and security controls to prevent data loss

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field.
• Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Technology if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Build the cloud foundation in Terraform, configurable to provision clusters of different profiles.
• Operate the data platform infrastructure (lakehouse on Iceberg, Trino, Kafka, Airflow) as a platform service.
• Operate and govern the catalog and metadata layer (Polaris, DataHub) and enforce naming standards and access policies.
• Enable self-service provisioning of Kafka topics, Iceberg tables, Airflow connections, namespaces, and query access.
• Define and measure SLIs/SLOs, runbooks, and incident response for zero data loss during upgrades.
• Maintain platform reliability, security, and multi-tenancy across environments.
