Job description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our residential care team supporting children and young people with complex trauma and emotional needs. This role involves direct therapeutic work with residents and families, psychological assessment, and systemic collaboration to foster healing, resilience, and reintegration.

Psychotherapy & Family Work
  • Provide trauma-informed psychotherapy for residents with significant therapeutic needs, and support their families where appropriate.

  • Facilitate recovery through evidence-based interventions, psychoeducation, and collaborative work with key stakeholders (e.g., families, schools, community partners).

  • Support high-risk residents in processing trauma and developing emotional regulation and coping strategies.

  • Promote secure attachment and parent-child relationship repair through creative therapeutic approaches.

Clinical Assessment & Care Planning
  • Conduct psychological assessments of emotional, behavioural, cognitive, and developmental functioning for new and existing residents.

  • Interpret assessment findings and provide recommendations for intervention, admission decisions, and care planning.

  • Collaborate with Social Workers and Care Staff in formulating, implementing, and monitoring care plans.

  • Provide input for referrals to psychiatric, neurodevelopmental, or specialised assessments where required.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with organisational policies and MSF licensing requirements.

Trauma-Informed Care & Capacity Building
  • Contribute to the development of a trauma-informed culture that promotes safety, resilience, and wellbeing for CYP.

  • Support the implementation and evaluation of the Trauma-Informed Positive Behavioural Intervention and Supports (TI-PBIS).

  • Deliver staff training and supervision to build trauma-informed competencies within the care team.

Therapeutic & Group Work
  • Design and facilitate therapeutic group work to strengthen residents’ social, emotional, behavioural, and life skills.

  • Partner with Social Workers and Care Staff to integrate group interventions into residents’ care plans.

General Duties
  • Undertake additional responsibilities or projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Master’s degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, recognised by the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) or equivalent accreditation.

  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with a recognised professional body.

  • Experience in child and adolescent clinical work, preferably in trauma, attachment, or residential care settings.

  • Strong skills in assessment, case formulation, and systemic collaboration.

  • Ability to deliver both individual and group interventions.

  • Commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based practice.

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.
