Job summary

A leading healthcare institution in Singapore seeks Psychologists to join a multi-disciplinary team. This role involves conducting psychological assessments and providing therapy for women, children, and adolescents. The ideal candidate will possess a Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and have strong communication skills. Training and supervision will be provided in a supportive environment. Opportunities available in both hospital and community settings.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for registration with recognized psychological professional bodies.
  • MPsych / DPsych / PhD must include placement hours and eligible coursework.
  • Experience with women's mental health issues preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake psychological assessments.
  • Provide individual and group therapy for women with psychological difficulties.
  • Provide individual and group therapy for children and adolescents with emotional issues.
  • Develop care management plans with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Create mental health education materials.
  • Design and conduct teaching programmes and workshops.

Job description

Psychologists in the Department of Psychological Medicine, KK Hospital, are part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team comprising of psychologists, medical social workers, clinical counsellors, occupational therapists, nurses and psychiatrists. We serve women with psychological and emotional difficulties, particularly in relation to childbearing, motherhood and women’s issues, as well as children and adolescents with behavioural and emotional difficulties. Services are provided with a tiered stepped-care model in mind.

Psychologists will have opportunities to work in the hospital setting and/or the community setting (under the Response Early Intervention and Assessment in Community mental Health Programme), with psychologist's population preference taken into consideration. Training and clinical supervision are provided to ensure psychologists are supported in carrying out their duties.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conducting intake psychological assessments for women, children and adolescent patients.
  • Providing individual and group therapy for women with psychological and emotional difficulties, particularly in relation to childbearing, motherhood and women’s health issues.
  • Providing individual and group therapy for children and adolescents with behavioural and emotional issues.
  • Developing care management plans for patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team and community partners.
  • Developing mental health education materials.
  • Designing and conducting teaching programmes such as in-service/public talks and workshops
  • Participating in adhoc mental health related projects in the hospital and community.
Job Requirements
  • Masters/Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology from a recognized university.
  • MPsych / DPsych / PhD must include placement hours and coursework that allow graduates to be eligible to practice in the respective countries where post grad qualification was obtained.
  • Eligible for a valid registration, license or practising certificate with an established or recognised psychological professional body such as SRP, APA, APS or BPS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work independently in a multi- disciplinary team, as well as with professionals from other organisations.
  • Proficient in a second language.
  • Well-developed clinical assessment and formulation skills.
  • Experience with children, adolescents and women’s mental health issues preferred.
