Job summary

A leading genomics company in Singapore is seeking a laboratory technician to perform sample processing and NGS library preparation. Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Genetics or Biology and 1–3 years of lab experience. Familiarity with molecular biology techniques is essential. Job description
Responsibilities:

Sample Processing:

  • Receive, log, and verify clinical specimens according to laboratory SOP and regulatory requirements.

Library Preparation & Sequencing:

  • Perform NGS library preparation, quality control, and sequencing runs on clinical and research samples in accordance with SOP.

Data and Quality Management:

  • Conduct initial data checks and collaborate with bioinformatics personnel to ensure accuracy and reliability of sequencing outputs.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all laboratory activities to comply with ISO 15189 and CAP standards.
  • Participate in the generation of monthly laboratory performance reports.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Support method validation, instrument calibration, and proficiency testing.
  • Ensure adherence to biosafety, infection control, and good laboratory practice (GLP) guidelines.

Collaboration & Training:

  • Assist in training and supervision of junior technical staff.

Ad Hoc Duties:

  • Support laboratory management in audits, accreditation preparation, and other projects as assigned. Other ad‑hoc projects as required by the superiors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Genetics, Biology or related life sciences major
  • 1–3 years lab work experience (preferably in a clinical laboratory setting)
  • Hands on NGS experience is highly desirable
  • Strong molecular biology background
  • Familiar with real time PCR, bioanalyzer, sequencing assays
  • Familiar with bioinformatics software and methodologies is a plus
  • Good analytical skills and detail-oriented
  • A committed team player who is enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Comfortable with flexible working hours
