Responsibilities:
  • Accurately translate principal and secondary diagnoses, as well as surgical procedures into ICD-10-AM codes from various clinical documents such as discharge summaries and operation reports.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to clarify and confirm documentation, ensuring optimal coding accuracy and adherence to coding standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest coding standards and continuously enhance coding knowledge and skills.
  • Manage and monitor daily workload reports for uncoded cases.
  • Work in conjunction with the supervisor to improve processes within the Clinical Coding office.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Medical, Nursing, Health Science, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Relevant experience in ICD coding is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to thoroughly review clinical documentation.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
