Job summary

National University Health System Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a physician to lead ward patient management, supervise junior doctors, and assist in specialist outpatient clinics.

The role involves reviewing cases, preparing discharge summaries, and writing medical reports to ensure high-quality patient care. Candidates must hold a basic Medical Degree, be registered with the Singapore Medical Council, and have completed 1 year of housemanship with 3 years of post-housemanship experience.

Qualifications

• Possess a basic Medical Degree from a medical university/school accredited in the state in which it was awarded.
• Must be registered with the Singapore Medical Council
• Completed 1 year of housemanship and 3 years post housemanship work experience

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the total management of patients in the ward with assistance of the Nursing Officer / Staff Nurse in charge. They shall make appropriate diagnoses and seek assistance from senior doctors when needed.
• Help Junior Doctors in the clerking of cases. Supervise them in the performance of procedures, helping them if necessary, especially with the more complex cases.
• Review all new cases as soon as possible following admission and check on the Junior Doctors' findings and notes.
• Completing Inpatient Discharge Summary Form and replying to referring doctors letters, informing them of diagnosis and progress
• Write medical reports.
• Check on Junior doctors' case records for accuracy and completeness
• Assisting Junior Doctors and Senior Staff in the running of the Specialist Outpatient Clinics.
• Review treatment of cases from time to time but not make any major changes to the treatment regime or discharge long term patients from follow up without prior approval of the Consultant or Associate Consultant who is in charge of the Clinic.
