As a Claims Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Prepare and deliver claims reports for senior management and head office review
  • Oversee all team-managed claim bookings, ensuring adherence to delegated authority limits
  • Evaluate complex and disputed claims, making informed decisions on coverage, reserving, and settlement
  • Interpret and apply policy wordings across multiple lines of business, including property & casualty, engineering, and marine cargo
  • Lead and mentor the team to enhance overall claims expertise and operational competency
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as cedants, brokers, insurers, reinsurers, consultants, and external experts to collaboratively resolve claims
  • Ensure claims handling processes are in full compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Compile and present claims data to support both internal reviews and external audits
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or discipline
  • Possession of professional qualifications such as ACII, ANZIIF, CILA, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance claims, including prior experience in team leadership or management
