Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Singapore seeks a Civil & Structural Lead Engineer to direct design delivery for semiconductor fabrication plants, cleanrooms and advanced manufacturing sites. You will coordinate with Process, Architectural, Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, and Construction teams to ensure safe, compliant structures that support precision manufacturing.

The role requires 15+ years of civil/structural experience, PE registration preferred, and proficiency in ETABS/STAAD/SAP2000, BIM/Revit, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of civil/structural experience.
• Experience leading civil/structural design for semiconductor facilities or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations and vibration-sensitive design.
• Experience in EPCM/EPC project environments.
• Proficiency in structural software ETABS/STAAD Pro/SAP2000/SAFE/RAM.
• Familiarity with BIM/Revit and coordination tools.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of civil/structural solutions for complex facilities.
• Develop structural concepts, design criteria, calculations, and reports.
• Review foundations, steel structures, equipment supports and service platforms.
• Coordinate with Process, Architectural, Mechanical, HVAC, and Electrical teams.
• Perform seismic analyses, foundation design, and equipment loading evaluations.
• Lead design reviews, constructability reviews, and value engineering sessions.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation.
• Support procurement through technical bid evaluations.
• Provide construction phase engineering support and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and client specs.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices across teams.

Overview

The Civil & Structural Lead Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, design coordination, and delivery of complex semiconductor fabrication plants, cleanrooms, advanced technology facilities, and industrial projects. The role will work closely with Process, Architectural, Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, and Construction teams to ensure structural designs are safe, efficient, compliant, and capable of supporting sophisticated manufacturing operations.

Your role

• Lead the design and delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions for complex semiconductor fabrication plants, cleanrooms, advanced technology facilities, and industrial projects
• Develop structural concepts, design criteria, calculation packages, technical reports, and engineering specifications.
• Design and review structural systems including reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, equipment support structures, elevated service platforms, and industrial buildings.
• Coordinate closely with Process, Architectural, Mechanical, HVAC, and Electrical disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Perform and review structural analysis, seismic assessments, foundation design, and equipment load evaluations.
• Ensure structures are designed to accommodate vibration-sensitive semiconductor manufacturing equipment and cleanroom requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary design reviews, constructability reviews, and value engineering workshops.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, vendor documentation, and technical queries.
• Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
• Provide engineering support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local and international codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers and provide technical leadership across the project team.
• Collaborate with global AtkinsRéalis structural specialists to adopt best practices and deliver consistent engineering quality.

About you

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading civil and structural design for semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel structures, industrial foundations, equipment support systems, and seismic design.
• Experience with vibration-sensitive facilities and heavy process equipment foundations.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary EPCM/EPC project environments.
• Proficiency in structural engineering software such as ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with BIM, Revit, and multidisciplinary coordination tools.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
