Responsibilities
- Measure and calculate quantities of materials, labor, and equipment from drawings (BOQ – Bill of Quantities).
- Perform site measurement and verification.
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil works (concrete, formwork, rebar, earthworks, etc.). Assist in project budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
- Tendering and Procurement Support: Prepare tender documents and evaluate contractor or supplier quotations. Assist in procurement and selection of subcontractors or materials.
- Contract Management: Interpret contract terms and ensure compliance. Administer contracts including claims, variations, and extensions of time.
- Progress and Valuation Reporting: Prepare monthly valuation reports and interim payment certificates. Monitor site progress and compare with planned schedules and budget.
- Cost Control: Monitor project expenses to prevent cost overruns. Provide cost-saving recommendations and track variations.
- Site Coordination and Inspection: Liaise with site engineers, consultants, and contractors to verify work done. Attend site meetings to ensure work aligns with cost and scope.
- Final Account and Project Closure: Prepare and settle final accounts with contractors. Ensure all project documentation and records are complete.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Cubit).
- Analytical and numerical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
