Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Civil Engineer to oversee construction activities at a power plant station. The candidate must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, or 5 years managing similar projects along with knowledge of Singapore’s construction regulations. Responsibilities include planning, monitoring project progress, coordinating subcontractors, and minimizing material waste. An ability to start on short notice is preferable.

Qualifications

• 8+ years relevant experience in civil engineering or 5+ years managing similar projects.
• Knowledge of Singapore’s engineering laws and permits.
• Experience in EPC project management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil construction activities at the power plant.

Job description

Location: Jurong Island

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil construction activities of the power plant station.
• Plan and coordinate station requirements, including subcontractors, suppliers, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor progress to ensure completion on schedule and within budget.
• Control usage and minimize wastage of major materials (rebar, concrete, formwork).
• Conduct daily site meetings, walks, and prepare action plans and progress reports.
• Coordinate with design, quality, EHS, and technical teams on engineering, safety, and quality matters.
• Manage permits, traffic/underground service diversions, and temporary works.
• Supervise subcontractors and suppliers for timely issue resolution.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering (PE Board recognized) or equivalent, with ≥8 years of relevant experience; OR recognized degree in a relevant field with ≥5 years managing civil/infrastructure construction projects of similar scale.
• Certified in required civil engineering training.
• Knowledge of Singapore’s engineering/construction laws, permits, licenses, and approvals.
• Experience in multiple construction projects; EPC project management preferred.
• Ability to start on short notice is an advantage.
