Job summary

A leading manpower consultancy in Singapore is seeking an experienced pastry chef to prepare and cook various traditional Chinese pastries and noodles. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Chinese cuisine, particularly in making dumplings and noodles, and should possess strong teamwork and communication skills. This role requires maintaining high-quality standards and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or noodle chef specializing in Chinese cuisine.
  • Skilled in dough kneading, fermentation, hand‑pulling noodles, and making various types of dumplings and buns.
  • Familiar with traditional Dongbei cooking methods and ingredients.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook various traditional Chinese pastries and noodles, including dumplings, buns, pancakes, steamed buns, and hand-pulled noodles.
  • Ensure the taste, texture, and presentation of all dishes meet the company’s quality standards.
  • Make dough and fillings from scratch according to authentic Dongbei recipes.
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, portion size, and plating standards.
  • Manage kitchen preparation schedules and coordinate with other kitchen staff for smooth operations.
  • Monitor ingredient inventory and assist in ordering supplies when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the work area in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Assist junior kitchen staff in dough‑making and pastry preparation techniques.
Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or noodle chef specializing in Chinese cuisine.
  • Skilled in dough kneading, fermentation, hand‑pulling noodles, and making various types of dumplings and buns.
  • Familiar with traditional Dongbei cooking methods and ingredients.
