Job summary

A childcare center in Singapore seeks a Chinese Enrichment Teacher to nurture children's love for the language. Job description

As a Chinese Enrichment Teacher, you will play an integral role in nurturing children’s love for the Chinese language and culture. Beyond teaching, you will be part of a passionate team dedicated to shaping confident, curious, and capable learners. You will guide students through engaging, age-appropriate activities that inspire curiosity and build strong language foundations.

This role goes beyond traditional teaching – you will also leverage intelligence-enabled tools which utilises data-driven insights to personalise each child’s learning journey. By combining pedagogy with technology, you will ensure that every child’s unique learning needs and abilities are met, helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct Chinese Enrichment Classes across different service levels/ages - K1 to Primary 6)

Preschool Level: K1-K2
  • Plan and deliver engaging Chinese lessons using songs, rhymes, stories, role-play, and hands‑on activities.
  • Introduce foundational vocabulary, characters, and simple sentence structures.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment.
  • Sensitive and attentive to students’ learning needs and well‑being.
  • Assist in developing lesson materials and resources that are age‑appropriate and fun.
  • Provide regular feedback to parents on their children’s progress and suggest ways to reinforce learning at home.
Lower Primary: P1 to P3
  • Deliver lessons aligned to the MOE Chinese Language curriculum (P1–P3).
  • Build students’ confidence in vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and oral communication.
  • Assist with curriculum planning and development.
  • Use interactive teaching methods (e.g., stories, games, multimedia).
  • Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about students’ learning and progress.
Upper Primary: P4 to P6
  • Teach lessons aligned with MOE syllabus (P4–P6), focusing on PSLE readiness.
  • Train students in composition writing techniques, comprehension strategies, and oral presentation skills.
  • Assist in curriculum planning and development.
  • Differentiate teaching methods to cater to varied student abilities.
  • Track and assess student progress; provide actionable feedback to parents regularly.
  • Partner with parents to support exam preparation at home.
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree holder in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of MOE syllabus and PSLE requirements.
  • At least 1 – 2 years’ experience teaching lower/upper primary students is preferred.
  • With Speech and Drama background is an advantage.
  • Possesses strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills, with good classroom management.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
  • Results‑oriented, dedicated, and able to inspire students to excel.
