Job description

I. Curriculum Development & System Optimization

1. Align with Official Standards: Based on Singapore MOE’s latest Chinese/English curriculum syllabuses, design appropriate teaching objectives and content systems tailored to the hierarchical needs of different grade levels (P1-Sec4) (e.g., Foundation Chinese/English, Higher Chinese/English). Develop specialized teaching plans for key and difficult modules such as PSLE Composition, O-Level Oral Communication, and IB Literary Analysis.
2. Teaching Material & Resource Development: Lead or participate in the development of school-based textbooks, lesson plans, and courseware. Integrate local Singaporean life scenarios (e.g., HDB culture, hawker centers, multi-ethnic festivals) and cross-cultural elements to enhance practicality and engagement. Consolidate resources from SLS (Student Learning Space), digital tools, and high-quality international materials to build a dynamically updated subject resource library (including question banks, case collections, teaching videos, etc.).
3. Innovation in Teaching Methods: Explore interactive and inquiry-based teaching models, such as cultural immersion activities for Chinese and debate competitions/drama performances for English. Design differentiated teaching strategies for groups like non-Chinese students with weak language foundations and EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners to improve classroom participation.

II. Teaching Support & Teacher Empowerment

1. Organization of Teaching & Research Activities: Regularly conduct collective lesson preparation, teaching observations, and peer evaluations to share high-quality teaching experiences and exam preparation skills. Organize thematic seminars focusing on common challenges (e.g., Chinese reading comprehension, English academic writing) and deliver actionable solutions.
2. Teacher Development Guidance: Provide induction training and teaching support for new teachers, develop personalized growth plans to help them quickly adapt to Singapore’s teaching norms. Recommend cutting-edge teaching concepts and tools, and organize participation in internal and external professional development programs to enhance teachers’ subject proficiency and research capabilities.
3. Teaching Quality Monitoring: Collect and analyze teaching data across grades (e.g., homework completion, exam results) to diagnose teaching issues and propose improvement suggestions. Assist teachers in optimizing teaching evaluation methods, balancing formative and summative assessments to comprehensively track teaching effectiveness.

III. Student Development & Academic Improvement

1. Academic Support & Competency Building: Design specialized tutoring activities for students’ weak areas (e.g., Chinese reading comprehension, English oral expression). Organize extracurricular activities such as reading promotions, composition competitions, and English speeches to foster students’ language application skills, critical thinking, and humanistic literacy.
2. Exam Preparation Support: Summarize proposition trends and scoring criteria for exams like PSLE, O-Levels, and IGCSE, and compile exam guides and mock question banks. Conduct intensive pre‑exam training to guide students in mastering answering skills and time management to improve exam performance.
3. Personalized Guidance & Feedback: Establish student learning portfolios to track individual growth trajectories. Provide targeted support for underachieving students and design extended tasks for high‑achieving students. Timely feedback students’ learning progress to parents and offer family tutoring suggestions to strengthen home‑school collaboration.

IV. Cross‑Departmental Collaboration & Cultural Inheritance

1. Interdisciplinary & Inter‑School Cooperation: Collaborate with other subject teaching and research teams to promote bilingual integrated teaching projects. Conduct academic exchanges with local Singaporean schools and educational institutions to share research outcomes and absorb advanced experiences.
2. Cultural Infiltration & Promotion: Chinese curriculum research focuses on Chinese cultural inheritance, organizing activities such as traditional festival‑themed events and local author campus visits. English curriculum research emphasizes cross‑cultural communication, integrating international topic discussions and overseas cultural sharing to enhance students’ cross‑cultural adaptability.
3. Policy Tracking & Implementation: Closely monitor changes in MOE educational policies (e.g., curriculum syllabus updates, adjustments to teaching requirements for permit holders) and promptly adjust research directions. Ensure teaching and research activities comply with regulations and meet the needs of Singapore’s diverse educational environment.
