Job Description
Classroom Management
- Plan and conduct lessons and activities tailored to children’s developmental needs.
- Set up and maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Engage children in learning through music, storytelling, games and hands-on exploration.
- Set up Learning Centres with purposeful activities that align with the current theme and support desired learning outcomes.
- Support children during daily routines such as meals, hygiene, and nap time.
Working with Parents and Team
- Observe and document each child’s progress.
- Communicate regularly with parents and keep the Principal informed of any concerns.
- Participate in scheduled parent-teacher meetings.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure consistent care practices and promote a supportive team environment.
Health and Safety
- Conduct daily attendance and health checks.
- Ensure the classroom remains hygienic and meets health and safety standards.
- Follow centre policies and ECDA regulations.
Administrative and Centre Support
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and centre events.
- Help organize festive celebrations and centre activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate in Pre-school Education - Teaching (CPE-T) / Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (ACECCE), or its equivalent recognized by ECDA
- Diploma in Pre-school Education – Teaching (DPE-T) / Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE-T), or its equivalent recognized by ECDA
- ECDA L1/L2 certification
- With at least 1 year of relevant teaching experience in a childcare setting
