Job description
About Greentree Montessori:

Founded in 1990, Greentree Montessori has established itself as a pioneering educational institution in Singapore, dedicated to nurturing young minds through child‑led, relationship‑based pedagogy. With multiple preschools across the island, Greentree also extends its expertise to teacher training, parenting education, and consulting services for more than 200 schools across Asia.

Job Overview:

At Greentree, every teacher is a changemaker. Here, you’ll guide children to become confident, independent, and responsible individuals who care for themselves, others, and the world around them. You’ll nurture curiosity, encourage deep thinking, and develop life skills that last a lifetime.

Teaching at Greentree goes far beyond the classroom. Our educators are leaders in education — from designing innovative curriculum and creating bespoke learning materials, to organising large‑scale events such as education conferences.

You will have opportunities to build strong partnerships with families, shape a positive, high‑performance team culture, plan and lead your own initiatives, collaborate with international educators, contribute to overseas projects, and even explore roles in training and school operations. Talent is recognised, trusted, and given room to grow.

If you want to make a real difference, this is where you can inspire, lead, and expand your career in ways few schools can offer.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Guide and Inspire Learning
  • Facilitate engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences that nurture independence, critical thinking, and social responsibility.
  • Plan, design, and maintain a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that supports each child’s growth.
2. Build Strong Relationships
  • Foster meaningful partnerships with families to ensure continuity of learning between school and home.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive, high‑performance team culture.
3. Take Leadership Beyond the Classroom
  • Participate in or lead initiatives such as event planning, curriculum development, material fabrication, overseas collaborations, and community outreach.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions that enhance the quality of education and operations in the school.
4. Commit to Professional Growth
  • Engage in continuous professional development and share best practices with the team.
  • Be open to feedback, willing to learn, and ready to take ownership of your role.
Qualifications:
  • Recognised Early Childhood Education qualification (EY2 / L1 / L2) and/or relevant diploma or degree.
  • Candidates trained in child‑led or relationship‑based approaches (AMI or AMS Montessori training, or equivalent), will be given priority.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the school’s language of instruction, either English or Chinese (minimum ‘B4’ in O-Level English or Chinese, or equivalent qualification; IELTS Band 6.5 or HSK Level 6), to take on the roles of an English or Chinese language teacher.
  • Positive, charismatic, proactive, and solution‑oriented attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for working with children and shaping their lifelong learning journey.
Additional Requirements:
  • Comfortable working in open‑air classrooms and leading outdoor activities.
  • Flexibility and willing to support occasional Saturday events and community programmes.
  • Physically fit and open to overseas travel for annual school exchange projects or training.
