Job Summary

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the Robotics & AI Research and Education Center in shaping the future of robotics and artificial intelligence through cutting‑edge research, academic innovation, and curriculum development.

As a member of the leadership team, the CTO will be responsible for defining the center’s technological vision, advancing interdisciplinary research in robotics and AI, and designing academic programs that integrate AI‑driven robotics into all levels of education.

This position requires a visionary academic leader who can bridge research, education, and industry collaboration to produce high‑impact innovation and prepare students for the rapidly evolving world of intelligent automation.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Academic Leadership
  • Develop and implement the center’s long‑term technology and research strategy in Robotics and AI.
  • Provide leadership in integrating AI and robotics into undergraduate, graduate, and professional curricula.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to design interdisciplinary programs in Robotics, AI, Data Science, and Automation.
  • Establish academic standards and learning outcomes aligned with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Lead the development of educational materials, laboratory courses, and online learning modules in AI and robotics.
Research & Innovation Management
  • Oversee and guide multidisciplinary research in areas such as machine learning, computer vision, autonomous systems, control theory, and human–robot interaction.
  • Encourage collaborative research projects that connect AI methodologies with robotics applications.
  • Mentor faculty, researchers, and students in publishing high‑impact work and securing research funding.
  • Promote research that aligns with ethical, explainable, and sustainable AI principles.
Technology Strategy & Infrastructure Development
  • Define the center’s R&D roadmap in AI‑powered robotics, ensuring alignment with educational and research goals.
  • Oversee the setup and operation of AI and robotics laboratories, simulation environments, and data infrastructure.
  • Support faculty and students in adopting modern AI tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and robotics platforms (e.g., ROS, Gazebo).
  • Drive the development of experimental learning environments that combine robotics hardware with AI‑based control and perception.
Curriculum Innovation & Educational Technology
  • Integrate AI literacy, coding, and robotics programming into STEM education pipelines (Preschool through postgraduate).
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to incorporate AI and robotics into blended and online learning formats.
  • Lead faculty development programs to enhance teaching capacity in AI and robotics education.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve AI‑integrated courses based on student learning outcomes and industry feedback.
Partnerships & Outreach
  • Forge partnerships with industry and academia to support research, funding, and curriculum initiatives.
  • Represent the Robotics & AI Center at national and international conferences, policy forums, and academic networks.
  • Promote entrepreneurship and innovation through collaboration with incubators, startups, and tech partners.
  • Lead grant applications and proposals for AI and robotics education programs.
Team & Resource Management
  • Build and mentor a team of researchers, engineers, and educators.
  • Oversee project budgets, technology investments, and infrastructure development.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and ethical responsibility in research and teaching.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in academic research, technology leadership, or curriculum development.
  • Proven track record of leading R&D or academic programs that combine robotics and AI.
  • Demonstrated success in securing research funding and managing interdisciplinary projects.
  • Experience in designing or overseeing educational programs and teaching AI or robotics‑related courses.
