Redstone Commodity Search are working with an international Agri-commodities trading firm looking to hire a COO to join their growing team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all group operations across Africa, Asia and the Middle East – including factories, semi-processing units and trading entities – to achieve output, quality and profitability targets.
- Drive financial performance by optimizing margins, working capital and operational efficiency across sourcing, processing and export functions of relevant products.
- Oversee supply chain and logistics, ensuring cost effective, reliable and timely delivery through coordination with shipping partners and internal teams.
- Develop and mentor high-performing teams across multiple countries, fostering collaboration and a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Role reports to Group Executive Director, working closely with the Group CFO, Regional Directors and Factory and Trading Heads.
Qualifications
- At least 15 years in agribusiness, food processing, commodity trading or industrial operations with relevant products (including cashews, almonds, spices, sesame seeds, canola seeds, and other nuts/oilseeds), a degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven track record managing multi-country operations within Africa, ideally Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Mozambique, Ghana and Togo.
- Strong financial and commercial background, with the ability to ling operational performance directly to profitability outcomes.
- Must be able to travel to plants across Africa as the role requires and have demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills with hands on practical experience managing plants.
- Role is to be located in Singapore, Dubai or Nigeria
