Job description
Overview

The True Group, established in 2004, is a subsidiary of Kontafarma China Holdings Limited (HK01312), a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. As one of Asia’s largest fitness and wellness groups, the Singapore brand focuses on fitness and yoga and continues to expand its regional footprint in the industry.

You will be appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of True Yoga Pte. Ltd. to oversee the overall operation of all clubs in Singapore under the group.

Job Summary

This position focuses on overseeing daily gym operations, optimizing member experience and driving operational efficiency across all clubs at multiple locations, while aligning with the brand’s mission of promoting health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

1. Gym Operations Management & Facility Oversight

  • Overall allocation and administration of staff & personnel resources among all clubs and gyms under the group.
  • Oversee daily operations of gyms/fitness centers (access management, equipment maintenance, cleanliness standards) to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for members.
  • Develop and enforce operational protocols: schedule staff shifts (center managers, membership consultants, fitness trainers, front desk, maintenance teams).

2. Member Experience & Retention

  • Lead initiatives to improve member experience, design feedback systems, and address pain points to boost retention rates.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to drive membership sales, set sales-related KPIs for center managers and membership consultants, and balance sales growth with operational costs. Foster a culture of wellness and accountability: lead regular team meetings to align on goals, recognize top performers and address performance gaps proactively.
  • Collaborate with the fitness team to curate and scale member-centric services: group fitness classes (yoga, HIIT, cycling), personal training (PT) programs, and wellness workshops (nutrition, recovery); ensure service quality aligns with member needs.
  • Manage member relations: oversee the front desk team’s handling of membership inquiries, renewals, and cancellations; implement retention strategies to reduce churn and increase lifetime member value.

3. Cost Control & Revenue Optimization

  • Manage operational budgets: control costs related to facility maintenance, equipment purchases, utilities, and staff salaries; identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g., optimized staffing during off-peak hours) without compromising member experience.
  • Collaborate with the sales/marketing team to drive revenue from operational channels: upsell PT packages, workshop registrations, or premium membership tiers; ensure operational capacity (e.g., trainer availability, class slots) supports sales targets.
  • Analyze operational financial data: track key metrics like “cost per member”, “revenue per square foot” and “PT session utilization rate”; use insights to adjust pricing, service offerings, or resource allocation for profitability.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business & Finance Administration, Sports Management, Fitness Operations, or a related field;
  • 7–10 years of experience in fitness/gym operations, including 5–7 years in a senior management role (e.g., Gym General Manager, Regional Operations Director for a fitness chain).
  • Proven track record in managing multi-site operations, improving member retention rates, and optimizing operational costs.
  • Familiarity with fitness-specific tools: gym management software for membership tracking, class scheduling, and billing; equipment maintenance systems.
