Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or Banking MBA preferred.
  • 8–15 years of experience in banking or financial services.
  • Experience in Strategy / Chief of Staff / CEO Office.
  • Strong execution discipline and stakeholder management expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Translate corporate strategy into executable initiatives and track strategic priorities.
  • Act as advisor and governance liaison to CEO; support board and regulatory meetings.
  • Drive cross‑functional alignment across business units, risk, finance, technology and operations.
  • Oversee management reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and performance reviews.
  • Support annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes; monitor targets.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to meet regulatory expectations and remediation plans.
  • Support leadership in shaping organizational structure, talent strategy, and culture; lead confidential projects.

The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted strategic partner to the Chief Executive of BDO Singapore, responsible for driving execution of strategic priorities, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and ensuring alignment across business units.

This role acts as aforce multiplier, enabling leadership to focus on high‑impact decisions while ensuring disciplined follow‑through, governance, and communication across the bank.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Partner with the Chief Executive and senior leadership to translate corporate strategy into executable initiatives
  • Track and manage strategic priorities and enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Prepare board‑level and executive presentations, strategy papers, and decision briefs
  • Identify risks, interdependencies, and mitigation strategies for key initiatives
2. Executive Management & Governance
  • Act as an advisor and sounding board to the Chief Executive on strategic, operational, and organizational matters
  • Support preparation for Board of Directors, Management Committee, and key regulatory meetings
  • Ensure decisions made by leadership are documented, communicated, and executed
  • Monitor follow‑ups and ensure timely delivery of agreed outcomes
3. Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Drive alignment across business, risk, compliance, finance, technology, and operations
  • Resolve bottlenecks and elevate issues objectively and constructively
  • Lead cross‑functional task forces for major initiatives (e.g., transformation, integration, remediation)
4. Performance & Business Management
  • Oversee management reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and performance reviews
  • Support annual business planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles
  • Track financial and non‑financial performance against targets
  • Provide data‑driven insights to improve productivity and decision‑making
5. Regulatory Risk and Control Oversight
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure regulatory expectations are met
  • Support leadership in managing MAS interactions, audits, and supervisory reviews
  • Ensure strong governance, controls, and issue remediation discipline
6. Organizational Effectiveness & Culture
  • Support leadership in shaping organizational structure, talent strategy, and succession planning
  • Drive internal communications and leadership messaging
  • Champion a high‑performance, ethical, and inclusive culture
  • Support change management and transformation initiatives
7. Special Projects & CEO Office Support
  • Lead confidential, high‑impact projects on behalf of the CEO
  • Support M&A, partnerships, transformation, or crisis management efforts
  • Act as proxy for the CEO in selected internal forums when required
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in the fields either Finance, Business, Economics or Banking MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification strongly preferred

8–15 years of experience in banking or financial services

Prior experience in one or more of the following:

  • Strategy / Chief of Staff / CEO Office
  • Regulated Activities
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influence skills
  • High level of confidentiality, judgment, and integrity
