Job summary

Analytical Laboratories (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a Chemist to support testing and quality control, prepare and standardise chemical solutions, and maintain laboratory instruments.

The candidate will draft and follow operating procedures, ensure tests meet customer requirements, dispose waste properly, maintain housekeeping, and work from Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with alternate Saturday mornings.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemistry or related field.
• No prior experience required.
• Detail-oriented and accurate in work.

Responsibilities

• Support and participate in laboratory testing and quality control.
• Prepare and standardise chemical solutions.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments.
• Communicate technical matters to manager.
• Draft, review and maintain SOPs for equipment and processes.
• Ensure testing complies with requirements.
• Dispose of waste according to procedures.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping and cleanliness.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Job description

Established in 1955, Analytical Laboratories (Singapore) Pte Ltd is one of the earliest batches to receive the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation in Singapore. With over seven decades of experience, we specialize in a broad range of chemical, microbiological, and environmental testing and sampling services.

Role Descriptions

As a chemist, you will be responsible for:

• supporting and participating in various laboratory functions, such as testing, quality control, etc.
• preparing and standardising chemical solution
• maintaining and calibrating laboratory instruments
• providing clear and timely communication on technical matters and operation issues to manager
• drafting, reviewing and maintaining operating procedures for laboratory equipment and processes
• ensuring that all testing are conducted in accordance with the company and customer requirements
• ensuring proper disposal of waste in accordance with the company procedures
• maintaining good housekeeping practices and general cleanliness of the laboratory
• performing other tasks as and when required by management.

Qualification and Experience

• At least Diploma in Chemistry or related field
• No working experience required

Job Requirements

• Work from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and alternate Saturday, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
