Job description

Culina is a leading purveyor of specialist Epicurean foods and wines, a choice distributor to hotels, restaurants and cafes in Singapore. Culina runs a Bistro and Gour-met boutique, an Organic retail store SuperNature in Dempsey, as well as a chain of butcheries in Major Supermarkets island-wide.

Job Summary:

We are seeking dynamic culinary professionals responsible for preparing and cooking food to high standards, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining food safety protocols. The role is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in all customer-facing areas of the restaurant before and during service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook menu items as directed by the Sous/Head Chef.
  • Contribute to menu planning, incorporating trends and new service concepts.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality food preparation and prompt service.
  • Guide and train cooks in preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Manage food orders, stock, and wastage in line with restaurant standards.
  • Follow and maintain standard recipes, techniques, and presentation for consistency.
  • Monitor food cost, sales mix, and assist in efficient menu planning.
  • Enforce controls to reduce waste and prevent pilferage.
  • Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and safety across all kitchen areas.
  • Oversee stocktaking and proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, and engage in ongoing training and development.
  • Promote and support a safe and organized working environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef de Partie; culinary certification or relevant practical experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen processes.
  • Ability to multitask, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain high-quality output.
  • Skilled in following instructions from senior chefs and applying best cooking practices.
  • Customer-focused with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management, professional conduct, and respectful team interaction.
Work Schedule:

5-day workweek with a rostered schedule:

  • 4 days from 7:30am to 5:30pm
  • 1 day from 7:30am to 4:30pm
