Job summary

A local cafe in Singapore is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to prepare and present Western cuisine dishes. The successful candidate will ensure quality, train junior staff, and maintain kitchen hygiene and safety standards. A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role and a valid food hygiene certificate are required. This role requires flexibility in working shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Chef de Partie or Demi Chef.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and execute Western cuisine dishes with consistent quality and excellent presentation standards.
  • Ensure mise en place is completed accurately and on time before operating hours.
  • Maintain proper portion control, stock rotation and reduce food wastage.
  • Assist Head Chef to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, food hygiene and safety standards are strictly adhered to safety protocol (e.g., HACCP).
  • Train and guide junior kitchen staff.
  • Assist head chef on new menu items and contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Report any kitchen equipment maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation at all times.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years proven experience as a CDP or Demi Chef in Western cuisine (e.g., bistro, steakhouse, Italian, modern European).
  • Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Possess a valid food hygiene certificate.
