Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, and executing high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s standards and concept. This role includes menu creation, kitchen operations management, maintaining food quality and safety, and leading the kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and develop menus, including daily specials, seasonal dishes, and event menus.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation.
- Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented according to company standards and recipes.
- Monitor portion and waste control to manage food cost and inventory efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Manage kitchen supplies, stock levels, and ordering of ingredients.
- Train, motivate, and mentor kitchen team members to maintain high performance and morale.
- Collaborate with management to create and implement new menu ideas and culinary innovations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to create and design innovative dishes while maintaining consistency.
- Excellent leadership, time management, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (e.g., NEA / HACCP compliance).
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work on weekends, public holidays, and shifts as required.
