Job summary

A leading catering company in Singapore is looking for an experienced Chef to oversee the food preparation process and manage kitchen staff. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of culinary experience, strong skills in cooking, particularly Chinese cuisine, and the ability to mentor and communicate effectively with team members. This role also requires working long hours and being available on weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of culinary experience.
• Experience with cooking and plating, especially Chinese dishes.
• Knowledge of methods, tools, and techniques for large-scale food preparation.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Control and direct food preparation process and any other relative activities.
• Set up the kitchen and have knowledge on ingredients.
• Produce high-quality display and taste of dishes.
• Handle and plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.
• Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff.
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Preferably someone with 2 years of culinary experience.
• Skilled experience in cooking and plating, Chinese dishes is preferable.
• Knowledgeable of techniques, methods, tools, and equipment used in preparing and cooking high quality food on a large scale.
• Possess good communication skill and able to mentor kitchen employees.
• Able to work long hours and weekend.
