A well‑capitalised and fast‑growing Singapore‑based commodities trading group is seeking a seasoned Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its next phase of expansion and value creation.
This is a rare senior leadership opportunity for a highly experienced, hands‑on executive with deep real‑world trading and management expertise, capable of building and scaling profitable commodities trading platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the Group’s commodities trading business.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability across physical trading and regional markets.
- Oversee trading, risk management, credit, compliance, operations, and finance functions.
- Establish and strengthen long‑term relationships with producers, offtakers, financiers, banks, and strategic partners.
- Take ownership of P&L, working capital management, and capital allocation decisions.
- Ensure robust governance, regulatory compliance, and risk control frameworks in line with Singapore and international standards.
- Build, lead, and retain a high‑performing senior management and trading team.
- Represent the Group at board level and with external stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of hands‑on experience in commodities trading, with a strong track record in senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience as CEO, Managing Director, or senior executive within a commodities trading house.
- Deep practical expertise in physical commodities trading (e.g. energy, metals, agri, bulk or soft commodities).
- Demonstrated success in scaling trading operations and managing full P&L responsibility.
- Strong understanding of trade finance, credit risk, market risk, and counterparty management.
- Extensive industry network across producers, traders, financial institutions, and logistics providers.
- Strong commercial acumen, leadership presence, and decision‑making capability.
- Experience operating in Asia‑Pacific markets is highly preferred.
- Formal academic qualifications are not a primary consideration; proven results and experience matter most.
