Job description

Location: Bukit Timah, Singapore | Full-time (5-day work week, 2 days off)

Do you love music and enjoy talking to people? We’re looking for someone warm, confident, and conversational to join our boutique music academy and instrument shop, specialising in violins, cellos, and more.

This isn’t your typical retail job — it’s about creating a personal, enjoyable experience for our walk-in customers who are exploring beautiful handmade instruments at LVL.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Greet and engage walk-in customers like a friendly host – not a pushy salesperson
  • Guide beginners and parents through the violin and cello selection process
  • Explain the differences between instrument models (we’ll train you!)
  • Work closely with our luthier and teachers to offer sound demos
  • Keep the shop presentable, elegant, and welcoming
  • Follow up with interested customers via WhatsApp or email
  • Assist with basic admin (e.g. inventory stocking, preparing accessories)
  • Perform student-related administrative duties such as scheduling of lessons, registration for exams, etc.
  • Handle cashiering functions including issuing receipts for transactions
  • Opening/closing of the school/shop
  • Availability to work weekends is essential.

Who We’re Looking For:
  • You enjoy talking to people and making them feel at ease
  • Fluent in English with clear, friendly communication
  • Confident, cheerful, and proactive – you don’t wait to be told what to do
  • Comfortable guiding customers, even if they know nothing about music
  • Some sales, hospitality, or front desk experience preferred
  • Bonus: You’ve worked in a boutique, hotel, airline, music school, or luxury retail setting
  • Interest in classical music, instruments, or performing arts is a plus.

Ideal Background:

Diploma or Degree in:

  • Hospitality & Tourism Management
  • Communications
  • Music or Performing Arts
  • Business or Event Management

What You’ll Get:
  • Sales Bonus on top of fixed salary $2,800+
  • Employee discounts on music instruments and accessories.
  • Complimentary music lessons
  • Hospital and Surgery Insurance
  • Friendly team environment in a music-focused space
  • Training in music instruments and sales approach
  • Opportunity to work closely with musicians and educators
  • Career growth opportunities within our academy and shop
